Account Deletion and Right to Erasure
Users may request the permanent deletion of their GoLocally account and associated personal data at any time. Account deletion can be initiated directly within the GoLocally mobile application by navigating to Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
If a user is unable to complete the account deletion process within the app, they may submit a deletion request through the account deletion form available on the website Delete Account. The form allows users to enter the information necessary for GoLocally to identify the account and process the request.
When a deletion request is submitted, whether through the app or via this page, GoLocally will take reasonable steps to verify the identity of the requester in order to prevent unauthorized or fraudulent deletion. Any information provided for this purpose will be used solely to process the account deletion request.
Scope of Data Deletion
Upon completion of the account deletion process, GoLocally will permanently delete or anonymize, where technically feasible, the user’s personal data, including but not limited to profile information, preferences, saved places, lists, chat history, AI-generated conversations, and wallet-related data. Any unused credits associated with the account will be forfeited. Account deletion is irreversible and cannot be undone once completed.
Processing Time
Account deletion requests are processed without undue delay and, in most cases, within seven (7) days from receipt of the request. In certain circumstances, such as technical limitations or legal requirements, processing may take longer, in which case GoLocally will complete the request within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Data Retention Exceptions
Notwithstanding an account deletion request, GoLocally may retain certain limited information where necessary to comply with legal, regulatory, tax, or accounting obligations, to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to meet security and audit requirements. Any retained data will be limited to what is strictly necessary and stored securely for the duration required by law.
Effect on Access to Services
Once an account deletion request has been completed, the user will no longer be able to access the GoLocally Services, including any premium features, saved content, or previously generated recommendations. Creating a new account in the future will require a new registration and will not restore any previously deleted data.
